In what is humorously known as my “spare time” I am Chair of Trustees for a multi-activity charity which, in addition to a Steiner Waldorf School, has two community Activities which offer supported living to Adults with Special Needs and a residential school providing care and education for SEN children.

This organisation has pursued a vision ahead of its time, a vision of social renewal, of how a healthy society might function and it has specialised in a spiritual context which treats those with special needs as whole human beings and at its best leads to exemplary care.

This vision meets continuous evolutionary challenge where the original values need to be revisited in order to develop a new vision which refreshes its pioneering spirit.  This transition is at the leading edge of the organisational model I seek to work with.

The experience in my local charity leads me to offer support services to help other such endeavours through the challenge of inspirational renewal.  These services include facilitation, leadership coaching, governance audit and a variety of trainings that support community development and conflict resolution.   I see the approaches and toolkits offered by Spiral Dynamics as very closely matched to such pioneering philosophy and ethos, and of great value to the community approaches to care and social endeavour should organisations elect to take advantage of them.   At the same time, both my background and the SD approaches will easily generalise to most other charitable and not-for-profit contexts.
