Integral Alignment

Coherent,  Aligned,  Resilient,   Emergent.      Making a complex world simple

It’s like riding a bike!

Organisations are never static.   Our short-term ability to respond to bumps requires balance and resilience.  Our longer term deliver of new visions and the capability for inspiration to emerge requires us to see the road ahead clearly.

Spiral Dynamics Integral embodies these balances.  The “dynamics” part of its name reflects the need to maintain these balances while in motion.  The universal nature of its developmental template gives us a means to ensure that older systems are maintaining resilience as a platform for the natural emergence of the organisation’s next phase.

Dynamic balance

The Goldilocks principle

As an example of balance consider that it is not that processes are good or bad in themselves.   Too much process can be bureaucratic and paralysing.  Too little can be chaotic.   The right amount is a springboard for strategic flexibility

SDi also provides a means to map where the whole organisation is now, and where its employees are as individuals.  From these maps we can increase the coherence and alignment of both.  We can detect where the balances are failing, and who is most affected.  In so doing, the organisation is supported to articulate its direction and to be fully in charge of that.   I do not come with a jelly-mould to fit you into and there is no predetermined “right way”.

The integral organisation maintains its coherence through the essential balances that are required at each stage of development.   It creates a resilient platform from which to operate and a place to stand for its emergence into the next natural stage.
